The 2014 property taxes on real estate and personal property listed in January 2014 will be delinquent if not paid by Monday, January 5th, 2015. After this date, per NC General Statute, interest will be added.
Enforcement proceedings such as: Garnishments, Bank Attachments, and Foreclosures could begin on January 6th, 2015, on the 2014 real estate and personal property delinquent tax bills.

The deadline for 2014 tax payments sent by mail to avoid interest is January 5th, 2015.
The NC General Statutes state that only a postmark affixed by the United States Postal Service is acceptable for proof of date mailed to avoid interest.
THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY TAX OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED FOR HOLIDAYS ON:
Wednesday, December 24th, 2014; Thursday, December 25th, 2014; Friday, December 26th, 2014
and Thursday, January 1st, 2015.
